Award winning BBC consumer show takes up cause of timeshare owners who say they are being pushed out

Following a media campaign by the Timeshare Consumer Association (TCA), BBC Radio 4’s You & Yours program has taken up the case of the Slaley Hall members who say they are being pushed out by timeshare giant: Seasons Holidays.

The TCA’s Daniel Keating praised the award winning national consumer program for speaking up for the Northumbrian timeshare members who feel as though they are ‘under siege” from Bristol based developers, Seasons. “We press released this only a few days ago, and we re very happy for the Slaley owners that they quickly got a chance to have their say in public on such a respected show.”

The timeshare industry lobby group, the RDO (Resort Developers Association) sent their CEO, a lawyer by the name of Paul Gardner Bogaard to defend Seasons Holidays’ actions. Bogaard disputed the members claims that they are being bullied and pressured or that other underhand are tricks being used to try and force them out.

The You & Yours host, Peter White, was able to corner the lawyer into committing on air to respecting the members’ rights.

Tim Norman, an East Yorkshire councillor, Bridlington hotelier and member of Slaley Hall believes it is a step in the right direction: “We are grateful for everyone who has supported us in this campaign but we will wait to see if Seasons keep their word.

“For the time being we would like to thank the BBC for shining a spotlight in what is happening at Slaley, and the Timeshare Consumer Association for their drive to get us media coverage.”
